What your chat can show

You remember how it felt. Your chat remembers how it went.

When you wrote, who wrote first, how long the replies took: these are things WhatsAnalyze really reads and counts in your export.

An example

What a reading can look like

Made up for this page so you can see the shape of it: the AI names a pattern, points to moments and suggests a next step for both of you.

How could we communicate better?

Your disagreements tend to start the same way: a plan changes late in the day, one of you hears about it by text, and the replies get shorter from there. Nora usually asks a direct question and Tom answers with a joke, which each of you seems to read differently. The exchanges that settle quickly are the ones where someone says how it felt (“I was looking forward to tonight”) rather than what went wrong. You could agree to settle plans earlier in the day, and when a thread starts repeating itself, suggest a call instead.

Close, with one recurring snag

Nora and Tom write to each other all day, mostly about plans, dinner and friends. The tone is warm and teasing, with one tension that keeps coming back: last-minute changes of plan. It usually settles by the next morning.

How you interact

Evenings run hot

The back-and-forth that goes in circles mostly happens after 11 pm, when you both reply in short bursts.

Both of you reach back out

After a quiet day, Tom usually writes first with a joke, and Nora picks it up with a question about his day.

AI can misread context and irony. Take this as a fun perspective, not a verdict.

Help me reply

Forget it. You always do this.

I was really looking forward to tonight, so I'm disappointed. Can we pick another evening this week? Why: “You always” tends to restart the same argument in this chat. Saying how you feel and offering a next step gives Tom something to answer.

Honest limits

What it can and can't tell you

Patterns, not verdicts

The AI points to moments and suggests what to try. It doesn't decide who's right or who's to blame, and it isn't therapy or professional advice.

Only what's in the chat

Calls, tone of voice and what happened in person aren't in an export, and AI can misread irony or context. Take it as one perspective and check it against what you know.

A short chat says little

A few dozen messages or one bad week isn't a pattern. The more history your export covers, the more there is to go on. When there isn't enough, the AI is asked to say so.

Private by default

Their messages are in there too

A chat holds the other person's words as well as yours, so here is exactly where it goes.

Saved on this device only

By default your chat is kept in this browser, on this device, so you can come back to it. You can choose not to keep it, or forget it whenever you like.

Stats and on-device AI stay here

The statistics and the on-device AI run in your browser. Nothing they read leaves your device.

Anonymized for the cloud

If you choose the cloud AI, the free preview included, only anonymized excerpts are sent: names replaced; phone numbers, emails, links and IBANs removed. The AI provider doesn't train on them.

When it's more than an argument

If arguments leave you afraid

If someone threatens you, controls you or makes you feel unsafe, a chat analysis isn't the help you need, and you don't have to deal with it alone. When a chat or a message points to abuse, threats or self-harm, the AI coach is built to stop and point you to support instead.

If you or someone else is in danger, call your local emergency number now. For free, confidential support from a trained person, find a helpline in your country at findahelpline.com.

Frequently asked questions

Why do we keep having the same fight?

Often the topic changes but the way it unfolds doesn't: the same kind of moment sets it off, and each of you answers the way you did last time. This page can't tell you why for certain, but your chat can show when it tends to happen and how the messages go, which gives you something concrete to talk about together.

Will it tell me who's right?

No. It's built to show the pattern, not to pick a winner. The AI is asked how you could communicate better, and it answers with moments from your chat and ideas for both of you. It doesn't judge anyone, and it can misread context.

Can it help me write the next message?

Yes. Below a reading, “Help me reply” takes a message you're about to send and suggests a calmer, clearer version that keeps what you mean, with a short note on what changed. You decide what to send. After an on-device reading it runs on your device for free; after the free cloud preview you get a few free replies a day, and Pro gives you more.

Is it free?

The statistics and the on-device AI reading are free, with no account, and so are the follow-up questions after an on-device reading. Without a subscription you can also try a short free cloud preview, with a few free coach replies a day. The full cloud reading and more cloud replies each day are part of Pro (€9.99/month).

Is my chat uploaded?

Not for the statistics or the on-device AI: they run in your browser, and nothing they read leaves your device. By default the chat is saved in this browser so you can come back to it; you can choose not to keep it, or forget it at any time. If you choose the cloud AI, only anonymized excerpts are sent (names replaced; phone numbers, emails, links and IBANs removed), and our AI provider doesn't train on them. You can see exactly what would be sent before you start.

Does it work for fights with friends or family too?

Yes. Any WhatsApp chat you export works, whether it's with a partner, a friend, a parent or a sibling, and group chats too. The AI describes how the people in it talk to each other, whoever they are.

How much chat does it need?

The more history, the better. A few dozen messages or a single rough week won't show a pattern. Export the whole chat without media; a long chat is fine.

See the pattern, then talk about it together
